1943 Aeronca L-3 "Grass Hopper"

Our 1943 Aeronca L-3 was donated to the Port Townsend Aero Museum in 2001 by Tom and Sarah Young of Bonney Lake. It was a project in need of a full restoration. It took the combined efforts of both our young and old museum volunteers just over one year to complete this fine example. It's restored to original configuration, including, WWII canvas upholstery on the seats, and an original WWII first aid kit. It is currently flown on a regular basis, usually by one of our young adults who has been checked out in it.
