1941 Ryan PT 22
Our aero museum is proud to include this fine example of a primary trainer from World War II. During those war years, the Ryan PT 22 helped to train over 14,000 military pilots. In the 1930s the Ryan Company was one of three firms selected by the US government for the mass production of military training aircraft under a type standardization program. Ryan was the first to manufacture in quantity, an all-metal, low-wing primary trainer for the U.S. forces. The PT22 was based on the ST-3 and remained in production until 1942.
