Museum Funding |

The Port Townsend Aero Museum is a non-profit organization that is publicly owned and supported by our local community. Donations of support come in many forms, such as money, goods and services, vehicles, and of course the many hundreds of hours of time that our volunteers give freely every year.
Some of the money that is donated to the museum helps to pay the current operating costs. These costs include but are not limited to: Monthly lease payments to the Port of Port Townsend for the use of the property; Electric and Gas Utilities; Insurance; Aviation fuel; Aviation shop supplies; etc, etc. The remainder of the donated money goes directly into our new museum building fund. This building fund has been growing steadily and is now to the point where we are finally able to break ground on the new building site. In case you're wondering, the new museum building is slated to cost between $2,200,000 and $2,500,000 before it is fully completed.
The amount of actual money donated every year could never support the museum, let alone allow it to grow into a new facility. As a result we have come up with several other fund raising activities that occur at various times through out the year. These include: A once a year USO dinner dance featuring a seventeen piece band; Two huge hangar rummage sales where we sell some of the items previously donated to the museum; Various large group tours; Contract restoration and repairs on privately owned classic aircraft; And just about anything else we can think of.
Please remember, all donations are tax deductible since we are an IRS approved 501 (C) 3 charitable organization.
Thank
you for showing an interest in our project.
