Due to a number of requests, the Port Townsend Aero Museum has started doing contract work on antique and classic aircraft for private owners. Our contract work started as the result of various antique aircraft owners touring the museum and closely looking at our restoration process in operation.  Seeing the high quality level of restoration consistent through out the museum’s aircraft, several private owners have been prompted to seek our help in their aircraft projects.

The contract work  at PTAM ranges from consultation to the rebuilding of complete aircraft. Included on this page are some pictures and links to our recent contracted projects.

For the museum, our contract work helps bring in a small portion of the necessary funding required to keep our doors open to the public and to keep our  youth programs running. Please remember, all of our aircraft on the museum floor are airworthy and flown regularly. Most of them by the kids involved in the program who are qualified to do so.  As you can imagine, the insurance, fuel and operating costs are substantial. Of course our limited contract work could never support the entire museum operation. So, if you have not done so yet, please take a moment and check out the link button to our funding page. This page will better explain how we are able to help keep the kids flying and the doors open.
