1946 Aeronca 7AC Champ *the new Champ*
Our newest museum aircraft is going to be this 1946 Aeronca 7AC which is slated to replace "the beater" this spring. This airplane will take over the duty of primary trainer for the young pilots in our flight program. Our beloved "beater" 7AC has served us well over the years. It will either be sold by the museum for much needed funding money, or retired for now, waiting for its restoration sometime in the future. Our "new" 7AC Champ is being restored to new condition, making it a truly new airplane when finished.
The airframe and engine for this airplane were donated by the Thuottes. To date, there have been over 25 individuals who have volunteered their time working on its restoration.
