Aeronca L3 “Grasshopper”

Some 1400 of these great little aircraft were built for the Army Air Corps (USAAC) through 1943.

Used extensively for liaison, observation, and artillery spotting, the real importance of these airplanes to the military was enormous.

Interesting Facts – This airplane deteriorated for many years out in the weather. It was restored by 35 volunteers at the Port Townsend Aero Museum.
